yet again i wonder how i've spent my year.
have i made the most of it?
my resolutions weren't fully met.
but i did become certified teacher man.
i put two plays together from scratch and produced them with my students.
in some ways i may have increased the love and beauty in the world, and i'm sure about a few ways i've taken love and beauty out.
new resolution: i am free, nothing fetters me.
PS. favorite album of 2006:
joanna newsom, YS

I've heard ys is either a love it or hate it kind of album -- I'm going to have to check it out sometime and see which side I fall on. Someone compared her to a Celtic Bjork- that work for you at all?
nik, to me she is more like iris dement (vocally), and her lyrics are dense, epic poetry that just keeps giving. you should definitely give her a try. there's really nothing else like it.
She reminds me of Blossom Dearie and she is certainly a creative powerhouse like Bjork. I was amazed at how she made the harp sound like a half a dozen other stringed instruments.
blossom dearie...yes... very much so, it hadn't occurred to me. also the mcgarrigles a little. i wish i could have been there when you were listening to her, b.
What?!? You mean that wasn't you?
Thank you does not even begin to cover things.
humming a threshing song
before the night is over
hold on, hold on, hold your horses
back from the fickle dawn
i have got some business
out on the edge of town
candy weighing both of my pockets down
